Impact Driver, Lag Screws and Wisdom

Hi everyone,

My name is Lucas and I'm a first-timer. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

I've done research about securing my tent and canopy into the playa. I'll be bringing my impact driver and  3/8 x 14 lag screws. If anyone needs to borrow the driver or some lag screws, just let me know!

If any experienced people have a few minutes on Sunday to check out my camp after I setup, just to make sure I'm lashed down and 100% secure for these exciting dust storms that I've read so much about, I'd really really appreciate it.

See everyone soon!

hello!

last year was my first burn, I was with a small group of friends in a theme camp. this year I'm going again but want to be a bit more solo about it and do my own thing. what impact driver did you get? the one we had was brought by a friend and worked great, but it was a really expensive one. I just have the lag screws, but no driver yet, being able to borrow one sounds great but also I might end up getting one as well just to be self reliant and all that.

lag screws are definitely the way to go -- they are super easy to install and remove, and they don't budge for the most part

Hey Davr!

I just have the cheap Black and Decker model. Hopefully, it has enough torque to drive in and pull the screws out of the playa surface, which I've heard can get quite compacted, especially after rain. From what I've been reading, it seems like it will do the trick. If you have any others insight though, please let me know!

If you don't feel like bringing one, you can definitely use my driver!
