Metal Detectors

Does anyone camping in Hushville have a metal detector that they would be willing to bring this year and help with our post event site sweeps for MOOP on September 5. If you look at last year's MOOP Map here: Leaving No Trace 2022: MOOP Maps, Inspection, and the New #1 MOOP | Burning Man Journal you can see that we got dinged for several metal tent stakes that our magnetic rake obviously didn't pick up. A metal detector would hopefully alert us to these so we could dig them out. Contact me at elleon@hushville.org if you are interested or have any questions about this.

As a follow up to the initial post. If anyone knows someone who has knowledge of metal detectors that would be willing to mentor me as to what would be a good one to acquire for our camp please have them contact me.

Alternatively, if someone with research/electronic equipment experience could do a deep dive on the subject and come up with recommendations that would be wonderful too.

I just want to make sure I get one that will last a long time given Playa conditions and will be effective in finding buried rebar and lag bolts.
